A most interesting combination of the Japanese tradition in its purest form and a contemporary jazz feeling is being brought onstage by two leading Japanese artists. They are Hiromitsu Agatsuma, a virtuoso on the traditional shamisen, an instrument similar to the lute, and Satoru Shionoya, a pianist and producer with vast performing experience as a solo act and partner to many greats, such as the Japanese salsa band Orquesta De La Luz, Tito Puente and Carlos Santana.
