An octet “Collective of composers, vocalists and performers” as the South American musicians refer to themselves, has been the music world’s sensation for the modern version of tango and its amalgamation with other styles.Initially known as the Bajofondo Tango Club, they debuted with an eponym album that mixed acoustic tango with electronica. The band would over the years expand its music to other sub-genres of electronic dance music to which they graft alternative Latin music from their home Argentina and Uruguay.Presente, the latest record, was released in 2013. United Islands is going to be their first open-air performance in the country.
