The city of Ústí nad Labem in Northern Bohemia saw in 1991 the foundation of a band that has evolved from its initial fascination with The Cure, Pixies, Sonic Youth and Mudhoney over hundreds of concerts and some good and some bad years into one of the most original and interesting bands of our day. Everest, their sixth album, ranks among the best material presented in the Czech Republic lately; its tracks have been forged hard in an oddball town in Sudetenland and they capture the audiences’ hearts even when played live.
