INVESTMENT IN MUSIC

Year of Czech Music 2014 or What’s Czech Musician in the world about which nobody knows”

Czech performing art is not receiving enough attention despite potential social and economical gains. There is a lack of conceptual vision in the field of institutionalized culture that would be leading the country towards the more cultural one, country that knows how to present its heritage as well as contemporaneity.

Concerning Europe Czech Republic, as a paradox, has probably the highest quantity of musicians in proportion to number of inhabitants.* Their production unfortunately does not generate such benefit to its society as how it works in music field in other countries. Why? The Czech music heritage is no doubts honorable. Unfortunately the evolution in last 65 years has proved that the country is no longer musically international. Unless some braking point supervenes the county is going to keep loosing. The conference will analyze those questions and try to form how to deal with them.
